Who is this guy anyway?..............What's his story?

Okay, since you asked…

I am a proud military veteran.  I retired in 1998 from the United States Air Force after serving 20 years. Traveling around the around in defense of our country was a rewarding experience that ultimately gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation for living in the United States.

No, I'm not a "fighter jock", but I was selected to fly back seat on an F-16 Fighter.  Let me tell you something... no amusement park ride even compares!   I sustained 8.2 Gs, bruised my tail bone, and the capillaries in my arms exploded and rose to the surface of my skin.   To top it off, I was physically exhausted for two days afterwards.  Got to give to those fighter jocks.  Flying a fighter is an extremely demanding job.  My only regret is that I will probably never do it again!

My military service started right out of high school.  After completing Basic Military Training and Law Enforce School at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, I was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, as a Law Enforcement Specialist.  While stationed at MacDill AFB, I was sent on a deployment to Egypt to guard airplanes in the desert.  That was a wake up call!  I remember thinking, "Toto , I get the feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore".  As a child growing up and playing G.I. Joe, I don’t remember going camping in desert or having my tent blown down during sand storms. Somehow, I don’t remember the recruiter saying anything about sleeping in the desert… I thought he said Marriott.  After the vacation in Egypt climbing pyramids, I decided to change careers and become a Command and Control Technician.  As a Command and Control Technician, I was stationed in command centers around the world directing the activities of military forces at the direction of the Commander.  That career change resulted in me staying with the military for 17 more years working with some our nation’s most sensitive military secrets and culminating with supervising a command center capable executing our nuclear arsenal.  Stuff like that keeps you up at night.  It’s scary when you think about the destructive power at our fingertips!

While in the military, I was routinely deployed on temporary assignments to Germany, Italy, Malta, Bermuda, Alaska, and Japan on military business and actually lived in Florida, England, California, Massachusetts, Korea, and finally Hawaii.  Just before Korea, I deployed to the deserts of Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield.  When the desert calls you go!  My reward was my final assignment to Hawaii where I met wife, Hady, and retired.  Hey, twice was enough.  They weren’t going to send me to the desert again!  And besides, the beaches and fishing in Hawaii are incredible!

Relocating to Ormond Beach after retirement seemed like the right thing to do.  My parents and many of my brothers and sisters had migrated to Florida and I had routinely visited Ormond Beach while in the military.  My mother had been in the real estate business.  We all have heard those stories about selling swamp land in Florida.  Well, I decided to get in on the action and try my hand at the business.  I quickly learned that real estate wasn’t as easy as it seemed.  There was a lot more involved than just showing a few homes, writing a contract, and picking up a check.  Many hours, lots of hard work, and 16 years later, I have firmly planted roots in Ormond Beach and don’t see any changes in the near future.  After moving with the military over many years, you just want to find a comfortable spot and settle down.  Hady and I really enjoy living in Ormond Beach. It affords us the best of those things we liked about Hawaii and the opportunities of living on the mainland… it’s paradise!

When not at work, I enjoy frequenting the area’s great restaurants, attending cultural and special events, shopping, and taking on home improvement projects.  I watch enough home improvement television to make me dangerous, but I still know my limitations... sometimes!  Sometimes you just have to call the professionals.  I, along with my wife Hady, and our Chihuahua, Typhoon, live in a golf course community where we have started playing golfing again.  In the past, we never got too serious about golf, but always enjoyed it even though we didn’t keep score.  Now that we live in a home overlooking the golf course, it has motivated us to find more time to play. With the great weather we have, it only seems natural to get outdoors and enjoy it.

I am licensed as a Real Estate Broker which means that I have completed  education and licensing requirement beyond a Real Estate Salesperson and am qualified to own and operate my own real estate brokerage.

I have a degree in Information Systems Management and am a Graduate of the Real Estate Institue (GRI), a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and member of the Counsel of Residential Specialist, and have completed training requirements as a Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR).

With nearly 16 years experience as a Realtor in the Greater Ormond Beach Area, I help both buyers and sellers meet their real estate objectives. I have extensive knowledge of the area and will work tirelessly on your behalf to make your next home buying or home selling experience a pleasant and successful one.

With 20 years of military service, I know what it means to be dedicated to a profession and held accounable for my actions.  I promise to provide exceptional service to ALL my clients.
